Mattei Galleria has been operating in Brookline, MA since 1999, beginning as a showcase for Jewelry Designs by Karina Mattei who has enjoyed 25 successful years as an independent businesswoman. Over the past ten years the Galleria has added jewelry, art, and fine craft designers to their showroom that features new work on a rotating basis.

Opening Mattei Galleria in Brookline’s Coolidge Corner Arcade building fulfilled a lifelong dream for Karina. Her desire to open an elegant gallery was largely inspired by the many talented artists in her life - many of them friends and family.

Many of the eight children of the Mattei Family each has a special niche in the arts, which traces back to their grandfather's artistry as a bronze sculptor. Karina's brother, Guido Mattei, creates intricate wrought iron pieces, and her younger sister, Mary Mattei, showcases her layered, rich paintings inspired by nature.

Karina creates unique pieces of contemporary and traditional jewelry through skillful manipulation of precious metals with gemstones. Her pieces are noted for their exquisite beauty, and natural simplicity. Karina's specialty is designing and creating custom jewelry that is both appealing and becoming to her customer. Establishing a close relationship with her customers is very important to Karina, and she recently received this note, "Thank you so much for your exquisite workmanship and artistry on creating my engagement ring... we're so looking forward to having you create our wedding bands."
